Situated on a woody peninsula in the small village of Petrcane on the stunning Adriatic coast of Croatia, the Stop Making Sense weekend promises to entertain and thrill in equal measure. More than a music/dance festival, this is a holiday in a beautiful spot. With an open air main stage for cutting edge live music under the stars, a tiki bar alfresco dance floor lapped by the waves, and an incredible 70s style nightclub to lose yourself in til dawn, all capped off with raucous twice daily boat parties - this weekend really is a belter!
The Destination:
The village of Petrcane is refreshingly devoid of large hotels developments, chain restaurants, and shopping malls. Instead, it is small and friendly, wrapped around a small bay with stunning views both out to sea and inland towards the rugged Dalmatian mountain range. We have a great range of local apartments and private villas, and if you really want to treat yourself, ask us about our yacht charter, you can explore the local islands by day and sleep up to 8 by night. We can arrange a full package including tickets, accommodations and all transportation so all you need to do is chill and enjoy the festival.
The Festival:
Taking place on the full moon weekend of 12th – 14th August, SMS brings an almighty lunar party to the shores of Croatia’s beautiful Adriatic coast. Stop making Sense is an international dance music festival with an irreverently independent vibe that showcases top quality dance music and live acts and internationally acclaimed DJ’s in the sunshine and under the stars. With a stellar line up of DJs and bands playing across the dance musical spectrum (from jazz, folk and Latin to house and techno via reggae, dubstep and electro), this is the perfect combination of sun, sea and entertainment. The music programme runs from noon to 6am every day and night: there is always something on to check out between a dip in the sea off the festival's very own private beach, a drink at the tiki bar or a bite at one of the many great value waterside restaurants nearby.
2011 Line Up:
2011 will raise the standard even higher than last year with the likes of; Body & Soul from New York, Sub Club from Glasgow, BBC Radio 1 Benji B’s Deviation, Favela Chic from Paris and London’s Dalston Superstore. Body&Soul will be bringing their lighting extraordinaire Ariel with them to work his magic on the ambience as they play from 5pm – 1am on Sunday, closing the festival with the Body&Soul experience on the shores of Croatia.
"An inspired line-up in an utterly beautiful remote location. Listening to Keith Worthy spinning as the sun disappeared into the sea was damn near perfect". Jack, Friendly Fires
