 | | Isabel De Galleani My first record was Kylie and Jason Especially for U on 45 inch vinyl… luckily my taste has grown substantially from those heady days! Working in the travel industry has allowed me to experience amazing countries, hugely interesting people, diverse cultures and when music is added into the mix the magic seems to happen. Learning to dance the Tango in Buenos Aires last November is definitely one of my music travel highlights. Being taught not only the moves but the etiquette and the history by our fabulous guide was thrilling, fascinating and stretched not just my limbs but my mind as well. The opportunity to have a one on one lesson followed by a traditional Milonga made me feel as if I were a local and it was just a normal Monday night in the city. I will never forget dancing to hardcore Brazilian beats at a Favella Funk Party in Rio, definitely one of the most exhilarating moments of my life. Others include listening to the Sunday jazz sessions at Jonno’s Bar in Anguilla and meeting the band and dancing on the sand to reggae beats with Elvis the owner of Elvi’s Bar - always feeling part of the scene and not just a tourist. And how could I forget listening to Coldplay live on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury 2005! And when I'm not on the road I'm learning to play the drums..... |
