Traveling the world as both a musician and travel writer has opened my eyes to the sheer amount of exceptional musical experiences on offer. Desperate to share my discoveries I joined forces with speciaists Original Travel and created OMT.
I grew up in Eastbourne where I spent my time hanging on the beach, obsessing about bands and learning to play the guitar. Half way through my degree at Brighton University I was handed the perfect excuse to bail when my band Toploader was offered a 5 album recording contract with Sony Records. Our laid back south-coast upbringing inspired a debut album 'Onka's Big Moka' that went on to sell over two million copies worldwide and our lives changed forever. Featuring the hit 'Dancing In The Moonlight' the album-achieved top 10 in over 20 countries giving us the fantastic opportunity to tour the world - I haven’t looked back since! Whether it's to play or watch a gig, attend a festival, write a travel feature or just simply feel the raw energy of an exotic music culture I’ve never stopped exploring.
